Toy Piles

Somebody likes toys... Principe has been exploring the toy bins. He carries them one by one to his big fluffy bed and when he is satisfied with his toy pile he will gently squeak and nibble on each one. He is a silly boy.

When I met Principe...

Principe was a timid pup when I first met him many months ago at an adoption events. He had just arrived from Puerto Rico with his buddy Galan and they were stuck together like glue. You could tell he loved dogs, but all of these people running around were making him a touch nervous. After about thirty minutes he started to bond with the volunteer handling him. He leaned in and started to happily accept pets.

When I saw him again today, it was to bring him home as our new foster dog! I had my eye on him since the day I met him, but he had blossomed into a different dog. Principe greeted me with a big puppy hug and licked my fingers. He still has some timid tendencies, but he has really come into his own and become quite the social bug. At the end of the adoption event we piled into the car and Principe looked at me from the passenger seat. He was ready to go!

When we arrived home, Principe got to meet our crazy pack of pups - a bossy terrier, a shy shepherd, and a goofy pit bull. Principe was submissive and friendly with everyone and they all became instant friends. He also got to meet our foster kittens and was interested, but very respectful and gentle with them. After introductions, Principe quickly settled in with us. He tried out all of the dog beds and investigated all of the toys, then jumped up on the couch and started to cuddle with us!

Principe has turned out to be the sweetheart I knew he would be! He really is a special pup!
